I have been involved in the game since 1982,I have worked at home and abroad building up an in depth knowledge of the golf swing, I work with players of all abilities from Beginners, Intermediates through to Internationals and Professionals
I have a holistic approach to coaching, using everything at my disposal to improve my players, I believe in keeping the game as simple as possible,stressing good basic fundamentals, I won't compromise essential dynamics in search of style, my inovative use of video in my tuition allows clients to see the changes that are required within their swing, and with my guidance we together implement those changes quickly and effeciently!
I was part of the inaugural ground breaking PGA game improvement team present at the 1996 British Open,subsequently I worked at the Open for several seasons, I also worked in the team of PGA Professionals at the World Invitational at Loch Lomond, The Macdonalds LPGA, at Gleneagles the Dunhill Cup at the home of golf St Andrews, the team even coached at the Motor Show at the National Exhibition Centre Birmingham.
In 2006 1 was awarded 'Advanced' status by the Professional Golfers Association, the Professionals governing body.
I have had three spells as Head Coach to Durham Ladies,and girls squads.
I have been based at The Beamish Park Hotel Golf Academy since 1996,building a reputation as an uncomplicated coach,I was proud to work for Golf England as a coach for the inaugural squad of five coaches for the Durham County Golf Partnership.
I gained a certificate in Golf Psychology Coaching an award for completing the Brian Hemmings designed PGA professional development course in the winter of 2011 and in August 2012 I was voted into Golf World Magazine inaugural Top 100 coaches in Great Britain & Ireland.
In July 2014 I became an AimPoint Express certified instuctor,and in July 2015 I was certified an Edel Putter Fitter in January 2016 I was deemed an Edel Master Fitter.
